KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.

Method 1: From your home screen

This is the method that changes by device. If you are having trouble, skip to Method 2.
Long press an empty spot on your home screen (an area that doesn’t have any apps or widgets). A menu will pop up that will most likely read “Choose wallpaper from”. For the sake of this example, choose Gallery. You can then choose the photo you’d like to set. It will prompt you to move around the photo for proper placement for your wallpaper. How to clear recently used apps on Android

Sometimes when you exit an application, it doesn’t mean the app has stopped. Most of the time, it’s actually still running in the background. Luckily, Android makes it very easy to clear out these applications. Here’s our guide on how to clear recently used apps.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.
First, find your “recent apps” key. On phones that have on-screen buttons, it’s the button usually off to the right side that looks like two squares stacked on each other.
Recent apps 1
Note: If you’re using a phone without a recent apps key, you may need to hold down the home button to get to the same menu.
Next, you’ll see a list of all of the applications that you’ve recently used on your device. These are the applications that are still open and running in the background. Swiping them to either side of the screen closes the app, making sure that doesn’t take up precious battery or data.
 Recent apps 2
Swipe them all away until you see this screen:
recent apps 3
Checking your recently used apps isn’t only good for swiping them away. It is also a handy task switcher if you don’t want to exit an app every time you need to use a different app. Just tap the button, click on the app you’d like, and you’re instantly moved to that application.

How to create a folder on Android

Creating folders for your Android home screen is an easy way to organize your apps. They help you easily find applications so you don’t need to go looking for them in your app drawer every time you need to use it. Here is how to create a folder on your Android!
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.

Step 1: Find your apps

First, find the apps you’d like grouped together. Some folders that we find particularly useful are “Music”, “Photos”, “Social Networking”, or “Utilities”. Of course, you don’t need to follow those if you don’t want to!

Step 2: Drag & drop

Folders 1
Once you have an idea of what apps you’d like in your folder, find an app in your app drawer. Long press it and drag it over to another app you’d like in your folder. When hovering over the application, you should see a circle around the app. Let go of the application that you’re holding on to, and that’s it. If you’d like to rearrange the apps in your folder, long press one of them, and move it to where you’d like.

Step 3: Rename the folder

Folder 2
Renaming the folder is a must if you’d like to remember where you put all of your apps. Once you click on the folder, you should see the title “Untitled folder” or something of that sort. Click on that, and your keyboard should pop up to let you rename it. Once you type in the new name, press the enter key on your keyboard, and your keyboard should go away.

Deleting folders

Folders 3
If you’d like to delete a folder, long press on the folder and drag it up to the “Remove” notice on the top of the screen. This is the same process for removing apps from your home screen.
You don’t, however, need to remove the folder completely to get rid of it. If you’d like to remove an application from the folder, long press it and drag it anywhere you’d like: to another part of your home screen or to the “Remove” section.
Note: removing apps from your home screen doesn’t remove them from your device.

How to delete apps on android

So, you just downloaded an app and you’re already tired of it. Instead of letting it take up precious memory on your phone, you can do something about it. Here’s our guide on how to delete applications from your device.
There are three main ways to delete apps from your Android, and it will be a similar process on each device.

1st Method: Delete from the app drawer

Deleting apps drawer 2
Deleting apps from the app drawer is the easiest way to delete an app from your device. First, open the app drawer, and find the application you’d like to delete. Once found, press and hold on the application, and begin dragging the app towards the top of the device. You’ll soon see the word “Uninstall” at the top of your screen. Drag the app to that word until it turns red, then let go of the app. Your device will give you a notice asking if you’d like to uninstall the app. Click “OK”, and it’s uninstalled!

2nd Method: Delete from the Settings menu

deleting apps settings
This way is a bit more tricky, but still useful. Some applications don’t show up in the app drawer after you download them. If you’d like to delete it, navigate to your Settings menu. Once in Settings, scroll down until you see the word Apps. Once in the Apps menu, there are three columns to choose from: Downloaded, Running, and All. For this walkthrough, we need to be in the Downloaded section. If the app isn’t in your app drawer, you’ll see it in this menu.
Navigate to the app you’d like to uninstall, and click it. Once you’re in the app settings, you should see a box marked “Uninstall”. Click this button, and select “OK” when prompted. And that’s it. Easy, right?

3rd Method: Delete from the Google Play Store

deleting apps play store
The third method takes a bit more time, but it’s still a viable option. First, navigate to the Google Play Store. Once there, you can find the app a few different ways. Either tap the Search magnifying glass at the top of the screen and search for the app, or open up the My Apps menu. To open My Apps, swipe your finger from the left-most side of the screen to the right. You’ll see a few options, but you want to click on My Apps.
Once there, navigate to the application you’d like to install, and click on it. You should see a box labeled “Uninstall”. Click that, and select “OK” when prompted.
Note: If you remove an app from your homescreen, it doesn’t remove the app from your device. It only removes it from your main screen.

How to download apps on android

One of the things that makes a smartphone so great is the apps you can install on it. Some are free, some are paid, and mostly all can be accessed through the Google Play Store. Here’s our guide on how to install an application on your Android device.

Browsing the Play Store

Downloading apps 1
First, navigate to the Play Store. You’ll see two green buttons at the top that read “apps” and “games”. Choose whichever one you’re looking for, and you’ll be presented with featured, recommended, free, and paid applications.
If you know exactly what you’re looking for, click the search button on the top right of your screen. Type the name of the app you’re looking for, and choose it.

Free Applications

downloading apps 2
Once you find an application you’d like to install, click it, and choose the “install” button. A page will pop up telling you what the application can have access to on your phone. Most of the time, if it’s a well-known app, you won’t run into any trouble. Once you’ve read through, click “accept”, and the app will begin installing to your phone.

Paid Applications

downloading apps 3
Paid applications take a little more work than free ones. Once you find an app that you’d like, instead of an “install” button, you’ll see the price of the app. Click the button, and then choose “Buy”. You can use your credit card or your Google Play balance to pay for the app. You’ll need to type in your Google password to proceed. After the password is in, the app will begin installing.
If you decide you don’t like the app that you’ve just purchased, you can get a refund within the first 15 minutes of installing it. Navigate back to the app in the Play Store, and choose the “refund” button. The app will uninstall and you’ll get a refund!

Your apps/wishlist

Downloading apps
The Play Store does have some extra options that can come in handy. From anywhere in the Store, swipe from the left-most side of the screen to the right. You’ll see a menu that gives you a few options. Here is where you can choose to see a list of all installed apps, your wishlist, or you can choose to redeem a gift card if you have one.

How to make a phone call on android

Smartphones can do a lot of different things. One of those things is make a phone call… which is probably the reason you purchased the phone in the first place. If you’re new to the smartphone world, you may be pretty confused with your new technology. But that’s okay! We’ll walk you through how to make, receive, and end phone calls.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.

Making a call

There are a few different ways to make a phone call. Let’s begin with the easiest.
From the Dialer app: Begin by clicking the Phone icon. This icon will look different for every phone, so don’t worry if yours doesn’t look like mine. Once in the application, a number pad may automatically fill the screen. If not, simply tap the dialer button, and you should see a number pad. Once the phone number is dialed, tap the phone icon, and you’re done!
Dialer collage 2
You may also have a search bar at the top of your screen. If you’d like to search for a contact, tap the search bar and begin typing the name of the person. Click on their phone number, and it should begin calling the contact.
Search Dialer
Do you need to look up a contact’s phone number before you dial? No problem!
From the Contacts app: Click on the Contacts app. In my case, it’s called People. Once in the app, scroll down to the contact you’d like to call, and click their name. Once you see their phone number, click it. It should connect you right away!

Receiving a call

Receiving a phone call may differ a bit on the phone you’re using, but it’s basically the same action. If someone is calling you, you’ll see their phone number and their name on your screen. In my case, I’ll see a little white phone icon pop up towards the bottom of the screen. If I press that button and drag it to the green phone icon, it will answer. Alternatively, if I drag it to the red phone icon, it will ignore the call.
Receiving a call
Since many other phones differ from the way mine looks, you may see something like this:
Receiving a call 2
The same basic action is used to answer or ignore the call. Swipe the green phone icon to the right to answer, or slide the red phone icon to the left to ignore.

Ending a call

Ending a call is very straight-forward. On most phones, you should see a big red bar towards the bottom of the screen. Click that, and it immediately ends the call.

How to manage notifications on Android

The notification shade on Android devices is one of the most unique and functional aspects of the operating system. It can be accessed by pulling down from the top of your screen, basically anywhere in the phone. It’s where you can easily control music, read text messages, and more. There are a few different types of notifications, and multiple ways to handle them.
If you’re wondering how to work the notifications on your device, you’re in the right place.

Swipe to get rid of notifications

Notifications
We’ll begin by getting rid of a notification. Let’s use a text message for this example. Once you receive a text message, it can be accessed through the notification shade. If you’ve read it and don’t feel the need to reply, simply swipe it away. This won’t delete the message, only clear it from your notifications.

Ongoing notifications

Notification 2
Some notifications aren’t able to be swiped away. These are called ongoing notifications. I have a notification in my shade that displays the weather at all times. Since it’s there at all times, it can’t be swiped away. If I click on the notification, though, it will bring me straight to the app.

Actionable notifications

Notification collage 2
Some notifications can be acted upon from the notification shade. If you receive an email, it may look like it does in the first picture above. If you’d like to expand it to show more options, swipe down on the notification. It will show a few different actions that you can choose, including deleting or replying. Click one of those, and it will bring you to the app to complete the action.

Quick settings

Notification collage
Quick settings are something that have been added to Android pretty recently. Instead of accessing your notification shade with one finger, swipe down with two. This should open your quick settings shade, something that could be very useful if you don’t want to dig through your settings menu.
If you don’t find swiping down with two fingers to be useful, open your notification shade and click the top-right button (pictured above). The button will look different depending on which device you own. Different devices will have different quick settings, but they’re usually accessed the same way.

How to monitor and stop data usage

Precious, precious data. If you’re like most smartphone users, you can never have enough. Thankfully, there are some pretty easy ways to monitor and stop your data usage to stop you from those nasty overage fees.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.

Stopping data usage

Data usage 2
Stopping data usage on Android devices is actually pretty easy. Navigate to your settings menu and find “Data usage”. Click that, and you’ll be sent to the data usage menu. You’ll see an on/off switch next to where it reads Mobile Data. When mobile data is turned off, you cannot connect to the internet, get notifications from social networks, or receive picture messages. Once you turn mobile data back on, all of your notifications will come flooding to your phone.

Data usage options

Data usage 3
There are some other options regarding the consumption of data. In the Data Usage settings menu, click the Options button (three vertical dots). There will be a menu with some other data settings. From here, you can enable data roaming, restrict background data, auto-sync data, show Wi-Fi usage, and get help with mobile hotspots.
You should also notice a grid with an orange line going across. This signifies the mobile data limit that you allow for your device to consume. Move it up or down, depending on how much you’d like your phone to consume per month. Above the grid is a checkbox that reads “Set mobile data limit”. If this box is checked, your phone will not be able to use any mobile data after it crosses the orange bar on the graph.
If the box is unchecked, your phone will simply give you a notice that you’ve gone over, but won’t actually turn off the mobile data for you.

Monitoring data usage

Data Usage 1
You also have the option to monitor how much data a single app is consuming. in the Data Usage menu, scroll down to the list of apps. This will show you how much data is being used by each application. If you’d like some more information, click on an app and view the information it gives you. The text under the data grid will give you the information you need.

How to send a picture message

Sending a picture message is just as easy as sending a text message. So, if you’ve done that, it doesn’t take much more to be able to send a picture to someone. Here are two  easy ways to send a picture message.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.

1. Send from your messaging application

Picture Message 5
Odds are you’ve sent a text message or two if you’ve gotten this far. This is basically the same process as before. Head over to your messaging application and create a new message or click on a conversation. Once there, you should see a little camera next to where you type. Click that, and a box will pop up reading Take Photo, Take Video, or Attach Photo. Choose whichever one you’d like, and it will attach to your message. If you’d like, enter some text along with the photo, and you’re done!

2. Send from the gallery

Picture Message 6
Head over to your Gallery application and find the picture you’d like to send. Click on the photo, and you should see a Share button at the top. Click that, then choose your messaging app from the list. Choose who you’d like to send it to, and you’re done!

How to send a text message

So you just got your first smartphone, and you’d like to send a text message. No problem! Sending a text message is a very easy thing to do, and we’ll walk you through the process.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.

Step 1

Text message 1
To begin, find your text messaging application on your phone. In this case, mine is called Hangouts. Yours might be called Messaging, Message, etc. Once you’ve found your application, click it. If you’ve never before sent a message, you may find the screen to be pretty bare. However, if you’ve received messages, they will show up on the main screen.

Step 2

New text message
Look around your app. You should see either a plus sign (like the one shown), the words “create new message”, or something along those lines. Once you click that button, it will take you to a new screen. There will be a space to enter in either the name of the contact you’re trying to reach or the phone number, if you know it off the top of your hand.
Once you enter the app, you may see a conversation with someone that you’d like to reply to. Instead of clicking on the plus sign, click on the conversation and it will bring you to the next step.

Step 3

Text message 4
Once the name or number is entered in, you will be presented with a new “compose” screen. Tap the text box space, and begin typing out your message. Once your message is typed out, press the “send” key. The key will look very different depending on which phone you’re using. In this case, all I need to do is tap the icon, and it automatically sends.
That’s it! The text message is sent, and you’re on your way to becoming an Android expert!

Starting up your new Android device

So, you’re new to Android. Just purchased your first smartphone, and nobody told you how to set it up? This process will take you through the boot up process when turning on your Android device for the first time.

1. Language

Start up 1
Once you boot up your Android device, choose your preferred language, then click “Start”.

2. WiFi connection

Next, you’ll need to connect your phone to WiFi. Choose the name of the WiFi you want to connect to, and enter the password. It’s important to connect because you’ll need it for the next step.

3. Sign in/create Google account

Start up 9
Connecting your Google account to your Android device is a must. In order to download apps, you must enter a valid Gmail address. If you use Gmail, choose “Yes”. Enter your Gmail address and password, then click the next arrow. You’ll be prompted to read the “Terms and agreements”… Read them if you need to. Otherwise, choose OK to sign in.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a Gmail address, choose “No”. Your device will prompt you to set one up. Enter your desired Gmail address and password. If it’s not already taken, you can proceed to the next step. You’ll then be prompted to read the “Terms and agreements”. Again, read them if you’d like. Otherwise, choose OK.

4. Enter credit card info

Start up 5
No need to get freaked out that your phone is already asking for money… it’s not. You have the ability to skip this step, but if you choose to, you won’t be able to download any apps until you do. Google needs a credit card on file to ensure the best experience when using Google Play (where you go to purchase apps).
We’d suggest entering in a credit card to get this process out of the way. Either press “Set up credit card” and follow the instructions, or press “Not now”.

5. Backup & restore

 Start up 6
If you have a backup ready from another Android device, make sure the first checkmark is checked. You may want to consider checking the next one, as well, to ensure an easy startup process for your next Android device. Once you choose one, both, or none of the options, choose the next arrow.

6. Google & location

 Start up 7
Checking the first box will allow applications to see your location. No need to worry… they don’t send out your location or give out any vital information.
Checking the second box will allow Google apps to see your location. This is especially useful for using the GPS or other location-based apps.
For ease of use, we’d recommend checking both checkmarks.

7. Almost done!

 Start up 8
Since I’m using a Verizon phone in this demo, I have the option to set up or restore from my Verizon backup assistant. If this doesn’t pertain to you, choose “Finish”.
That’s it! Your device is up and running, and you can now begin using your Android device!

How to perform a factory data reset

Completely resetting your device is a normal procedure, and can actually help you out quite a bit. If your device is slowing down and almost unusable, you can perform what’s called a “factory data reset”. Performing one completely erases everything on your phone – contacts, pictures, applications, etc. Your device will revert back to how it was when you first powered it on, so take caution when thinking about going through with this.
Here, we walk you through the process of resetting your device back to factory settings.
Before you reset your device, you’ll want to back up your data. A handy way of doing this is to use a cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox. These are very easy to use, and they offer quite a bit of free storage when you sign up. Cloud storage is great for media, but if you have an microSD card, that’s even better. Back up as much of your data as you can, then proceed to step one (don’t worry, a data backup walkthrough is soon to come)
Factory Data Reset

Step 1

First, navigate to your Settings menu. Once there, scroll down until you see an option to “Backup & reset”. Choose that, then proceed to Step 2.

Step 2

Next, you have a few options to choose from. You can choose to back up your app data and other Settings to Google servers, or you can choose to automatically restore your backed up settings and data. If none of those are of interest, choose the “Factory data reset” button at the bottom.

Step 3 – The point of no return

Well, here it goes. Even if all of your data is completely backed up, it can still be a little nerve-racking. But don’t worry… if you have your stuff backed up, the only thing you need to think about is how smoothly your device is going to run after this.
You’ll see a warning, letting you know that you will lose all of your data. If you’d like to proceed, click the “Reset phone” button. This will perform a factory data reset, and you’ll be ready to start up your device again in a few minutes. You should see a picture of the Android mascot getting worked on. After the reset is finished, your phone will begin to boot up!

How to change your keyboard on Android

Sometimes the stock keyboard on your Android device just doesn’t cut it. With great alternate keyboards out there like Swiftkey, Google Keyboard, and Fleksy, you may want to think about trying out another one. Here’s our walkthrough for changing your keyboard.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.
keyboard 1
First, download a keyboard. If you don’t have a preference quite yet, head to the Play Store and search “keyboard”. Don’t be intimidated on the number of results, though. We’d recommend either Swiftkey or the Google Keyboard, but Fleksy is nice, too. Once you download your new keyboard, move on to the next step.
keyboard 2
Next, you’ll need to open up a text field. The easiest way to do this is to start a text message. Once your keyboard pops up, pull down the notification shade. You should see a notification to “Choose input method”. Click that, and you should see a list of keyboards. Choose the one you just downloaded.
Here’s where the process differs a bit. You’ll need to go through some steps to enable new keyboards, but don’t worry! The app will walk you through it. Once finished, you should be taken back to your text message. Your keyboard has been changed!
If you’d like to switch back to your other keyboard, pull down the notification shade and select the keyboard you’d like.

How to take a picture on your Android phone

One of the coolest features of smartphones is the ability to take a picture anywhere you want. If you need a little help with becoming a photographer from your Android device, we’re here to help you. Here’s how to take a picture on your Android device.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less.
The first thing you’ll need to do is find your camera app. Choose it, and it will open right away. (Your camera app might look a bit different from ours, but it requires generally the same action to take a picture.)
Picture 1
Find the subject you’d like to photograph. If it looks too blurry on your screen, tap where you’d like it to focus. A circle will pop up, showing where the camera is focusing.
Picture 2
Once the camera focuses, tap the shutter button. It’s usually off to the bottom or the right side. After you tap the button, the picture has been taken. Head over to your Gallery or Photos app to check out your photography skills!

TIP: Password protect your purchases through Google Play

In the wake of news that Google is facing a class-action lawsuit due to unauthorised charges accumulated through in-app purchases without parents permission, here’s a little tip to help you prevent against unwanted costs. The lawsuit has been filed against Google in the US District Court for the Northern District of California by a New York resident, Llana Imber-Gluck, whose child spent $68.95 on the Marvel Run Jump Smash! game without her permission.
You can help avoid such a situation by password protecting your Google Play in order to prevent unauthorised purchases.
  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Touch Menu > Settings (depending on your device, your Menu icon may look different).
  3. Under “User controls,” check the box next to Password – Use password to restrict purchases.
  4. Enter your password when prompted.
After checking the Password box, you will be asked to enter your password before making the next purchase on Google Play. After signing in to your account, you will be able to make purchases on Google Play for 30 minutes without having to re-enter your password. After the 30 minutes has expired, you’ll have to re-authenticate by entering your Google account password.
Taking necessary steps to prevent transactions from being carried out with your consent will help protect against any unexpected charges arising from purchases on your account, especially on a shared device.

Tip: How to hide the notification bar on Nova Launcher

Installing Nova Launcher opens up a whole load of customisation possibilities for your Android device; first we explained how to use Nova Launcher gestures to quickly activate Google Now, and now you’ll see how to hide the notification bar.
Hiding the notification pane on your device can change the look of your home screen entirely, for the better – not only do you get more screen space, but you don’t have a solid black bar spoiling your nice new minimal wallpaper.
The requirement is that you’ll need to be on KitKat 4.4, or any phone that supports transparency in the navigation bar, of which includes:
  • Samsung Galaxy S3 (on Android 4.3)
  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • Sony Xperia Z
  • Motorola Moto X
  • HTC One (rooted)

Tip: Use Nova Launcher to Access Google Now

Although most devices are now moving to the onscreen navigation keys there are still some devices which rely on hardware keys. Take the Samsung Galaxy S4, for example.
Unfortunately, if you have hardware keys, simply swiping up from the “Home” button to access Google Now just isn’t possible.
However, if you’re using Nova Launcher, which we previously covered, there is a quick tip which will enable you to assign a swipe gesture to the App drawer button to replicate this functionality.
1.  From your homescreen, long press on the “App Drawer” button.
2.  Select the option for “Edit.”
3.  Next to Swipe Action, select the “None” text.
4.  A separate page will pop up. On the top, hit “Apps.”
5.  Scroll down until you find “Google.”
6.  Select it.
7.  Under the Edit Shortcut menu, hit “OK.”
It’s as simple as that! Simply swipe up on the App Drawer button and it will fire up Google Now.

Get Started with Nova Launcher for Android

With all the launchers that are available in the Google Play Store, it can often be a daunting task trying to decipher the differences between them all, when really all you want to do is cover up that ugly TouchWiz skin. Here we take a look at one of the offerings called Nova Launcher and how to get it, install it, and configure it to get you up and running.

Install Nova Launcher

Obviously, the first thing we want to do is to install Nova Launcher, which is a free download from the Google Play Store.
Upon opening the app you’ll notice Nova Launcher looks a lot like stock Android – and you’d be right! No more TouchWiz for you. Bundled with the Launcher is a whole load of settings that can customize your Nova Launcher experience to exactly how you like it.
From the settings menu, you can customise the number of home screens that are available, the number of columns and rows that are contained within each homescreen (so you can fit more/less on the screen), as well as the dock and folder appearance.

Some of the settings are protected and are only available in Nova Launcher Prime, which is the paid version of the Launcher. However, most functionality is available from the free version.
In addition, you can download icon packs that have been designed to work with Nova Launcher to give a different system-wide look to your device. Just head over to our icon download section to check out some of the best ones.
Nova Launcher is a fantastic way of bringing the stock look of Android back to your device without having to worry about rooting or flashing custom roms.
Some of the features include:

Tip: Call mom (or your wife) quicker with Google Search

Do you ever have trouble finding numbers in your address book? Why not just ask Google Now to place the call for you?
With the release of a Google Search update, today Google dropped a little tip that can help you save time while keeping in touch with loved ones or help when you have your hands full.
Instead of desperately searching your contact list for that number, use the new functionality in the Google search app to pull up the contact information. While on the home screen (if you have a Nexus 5 or are running the Google Experience Launcher) or are in Google Now, simply say “Ok Google, call mom.” You can also send a text the same way such as by saying, “Ok Google, text mom” or “Ok Google, text Marissa.”
One last thing, if you don’t have mom or your wife setup in your phone, Google Now will help you with that as well so it works the next time.

Remotely lock your missing Android smartphone or tablet

Need to lock your missing Android smartphone or tablet? Maybe you need to wipe it clean and erase that guy lest your sensitive data falls into the wrong hands. Good news, Google now allows for this via its Android Device Manager.
As part of the Google Play services, the ADM lets you wipe or lock the device just so long as its connected to some data network. It doesn’t matter what level of security you have or what apps are loaded, the ADM will override the settings.
It’s not exactly new or innovative stuff, however it’s officially Google and that makes us feel safe. What about you?
To get started, you’ll simply need to open the Google Settings app on your Android device. You can select to allow for remote location, remote locking, and factory reset.  Once enabled, you can head to the Android Device Manager and choose from your options.
Don’t forget, you can locate your misplaced Android by ringing it at maximum volume for five minutes straight.
